Make a tower defense game with AI, waves and all
Tyrbo is an AI tower defense maker. You describe what is attacking, what defends and where, and it plans the map, the towers, the waves and the gold with you, then builds the whole thing for your phone. Then you do the part that decides whether a tower defense is good: tuning the wave curve and the economy until every choice matters.

The path and the build spots
Every tower defense starts with a map question: where do enemies walk, and where can you build? A fixed winding path with marked build spots is the classic mobile shape, readable and easy to balance. Open fields where your towers form the maze give more freedom and much harder balancing.
Tyrbo lays the map out with its tower-defense lane recipe, so a path, its entry and exit, and the spots beside it come ready and tested. You decide the twists: a path that splits in two, a bridge that is a natural choke point, a cliff where only certain towers fit, several maps that each teach something new. The castle gate at the end is where lives are lost, so make it visible.
Waves and their curve
A tower defense lives or dies on its wave curve. Each wave should test what the player has just built: a rush of fast weak enemies, then armored ones, then flyers that ignore the path, then a boss. Too gentle and the player is bored; too sharp and they lose without learning why.
Tyrbo plans the wave list with you, with enemy types, counts, spacing and health growth, and writes every enemy type into the game. To tune it, ask for helpers on screen: skip to wave 15, double the gold, spawn a boss now, a slider for health growth per wave. You can feel the late game on your phone without playing for half an hour.
Tower roles and upgrades
Towers are interesting when each has a job. A typical set:
- a fast single-target shooter for steady damage
- a splash tower for crowds
- a slowing tower that buys time
- a long-range tower that hits armor or flyers
Upgrades should change how a tower plays, not just its numbers: at the last level, the splash tower might pick between a wider blast and a burning one. Describe your towers in plain words and the AI tower defense generator writes their targeting, damage and upgrade paths, with every value exposed. Then tell it what feels off, like the slow tower being too strong, and it adjusts.
The economy, and making it without coding
Gold is the hidden half of tower defense. How much each kill pays, the bonus for calling a wave early, what selling refunds and what upgrades cost decide whether players build wide or tall. Ask Tyrbo for a balancing panel and it builds sliders for these into your game, so you tune the economy while you play.
The art comes from a curated tower defense sprite pack and a 3D tower defense kit, plus generated pieces, in your chosen look: low-poly, cartoon, voxel or neon. Before release it is checked for soft-locks and smooth play on budget Android, with ads and purchases wired. See how to make a tower defense game with AI.
Start a tower defense game with one sentence
- Garden gnomes defending a vegetable patch from snail waves with sprinkler and pepper towers
- A castle on a cliff path where crossbow, frost and catapult towers hold back goblin hordes
- Neon tower defense: circuit paths, laser turrets and glitch viruses that split when hit
- A candy village defended by gumdrop cannons against marching armies of hungry ants

Questions people ask
Can I make a tower defense game without coding?
Yes. Describe the invaders, the defenders and the place in a sentence, pick from a few options where Tyrbo has already chosen its best guess, and review the plan and concept art. It builds the map, towers and waves; you tune them by asking.
Can players build their own maze instead of using a fixed path?
Fixed paths with build spots are the shape Tyrbo builds best, because they are readable on a phone and easier to balance. An open-field maze is something you can ask for, and the AI will write the pathfinding it needs, but expect more tuning work.
How many towers and enemies can my game have?
As many as you design. Most good tower defense games start with three or four towers and a handful of enemy types, then add one new piece every few levels. Starting small makes the wave curve far easier to get right.
Can I publish my tower defense game?
Yes. You get a signed Android build that you own with full commercial rights, plus a step-by-step checklist for Google Play. Ads and in-app purchases come wired, so speed-ups or premium towers can be connected right away.
